Frequently Asked Questions

  • We’re still working on the pricing for this, and it won’t be locked until we sign contracts. However, our pricing will be transparent to everyone taking parts, including costs of logistics and the decaffeination process. We do not intend to make a profit from the sale of this green coffee.

  • The minimum purchase for the event is one 70kg bag of each coffee (one caffeinated and three decaffeinated), so a total of approximately 280kg of coffee. We’re not sure about the maximum; it may depend on interest, but we think a total of approximately 1,120kg (4 bags of each coffee) will be the maximum. This may go down.

  • We’d love for smaller roasters to take part, and so we’d encourage them to form buying groups locally and then split the coffee themselves. Logistically we can only deal with one contact for a parcel of coffee, but do let us know if you’re part of a buying group so we know to make sure all participating roasters are included on the maps and buying resources for the global tasting.

  • No, you’re welcome to sell the tasting kit at whatever price is sustainable for your business. We’d encourage participants to price it in a way that encourages participation. We know that from previous tastings that there is generally benefit to long term sales from these events, and so hopefully you can price your kits with that in mind. We’d love as many people as possible to take part in this and to taste these coffees.

  • There isn’t a confirmed date. We’ll schedule it to make sure roasters around the world have a chance to receive the coffee and spend time developing roast profiles, as well as time to sell and ship the kits to consumers.

  • Once we have completed the initial phases, this website will be rebuilt to showcase roasters around the world taking part to help connect consumers with a local roaster to buy from in order to take part in the tasting.
